[ARCHIVED] 10/7/21 Weekly COVID-19 Dashboard

Cases are down again in Easthampton and cases are declining in Hampshire and Hampden county. Good news all around!

This week I've included information about when to get tested after exposure. We used to recommend that you get tested after a minimum of 5 days for accurate results, but the delta variant has (once again) changed recommendations. If you are exposed to someone who is infected with COVID-19 in the US, they almost certainly are infected with the delta variant. Evidence indicates that you should get tested 3 to 5 days after known exposure, and for most accurate results, get tested on both days 3 and 5 (or days 4 and 6, etc.).

As always, you should also get tested anytime you experience symptoms (which can resemble the common cold / flu / allergies) and avoid contact with others ("stay home") until you have negative test results.

Stay well,

Megan W. Harvey, PhD, MS
