WORCESTER RED SOX RUNNING BASEBALL CLINIC FOR EASTHAMPTON YOUTH
Easthampton MA: Worcester Red Sox or “WooSox” Front Office Staff are coming to Easthampton.
Staff are running “Fall Ball” clinics, 10:00 AM - 1:15 PM, Saturday, October 16th for any Easthampton youth aged 8 to 17 at Nonotuck Park. Coaches of Easthampton High School, Easthampton Baseball and Softball Little were sent pre - registration sign-ups but pre-registration is not needed to attend a clinic.
Mayor LaChapelle will welcome the WooSox staff then players split into teams/groups by age onto four different fields for the clinic. In addition to skill clinics, kids can learn about professional baseball careers in the Front and Back Office of clubs.
The Mayor asked EHS Softball Coach and District 2 City Councilor Homar Gomez to organize the clinics so community and team members could access the skill clinics.
“There is nothing more beautiful than seeing children having fun and learning. For this reason, I have done everything possible to bring members of the WooSox organization to Easthampton for baseball and softball clinics. Thanks to Mayor Nicole Lachapelle and her office for connecting me to the club to make this event a reality,” said Coach and Councilor Homar Gomez.
Clinics are just one component of the team’s strong commitment to youth and family. The WooSox Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the Worcester Red Sox, seeks to make dreams come true for the families in the City of Worcester, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and the surrounding region in New England. The Foundation’s areas of focus are education, recreation, conquering cancer, and social justice.
“All of us at the Worcester Red Sox are looking forward to showing our support for the kids of Easthampton, and playing a little Fall Ball,” said WooSox Vice President of Baseball Operations & Community Relations, Joe Bradlee. “Autumn is officially upon us, we are eager to put on this youth clinic with many of our front office members who have played baseball and softball at the collegiate level.”
