City of Easthampton Municipal Leadership Academy – Spring 2024

Easthampton - MA, The City is excited to announce the Municipal Leadership Academy, a unique opportunity for you to gain insights into the inner workings of our budget process. Councilors Koni Denham and Homar Gomez, in collaboration with the Mayor’s Office, cordially invite you to be part of this engaging experience taking place in January 2024.

The purpose of this academy is to help our community better understand how our city departments create their budgets. Over the course of 10 enlightening sessions, you’ll have the opportunity to interact with department heads and their representatives, who will provide you with in-depth explanations of the budget preparation process and the challenges they face in delivering services to our community.

Councilwoman Denham expresses, “The Municipal Leadership Academy offers an incredible opportunity for residents to learn about Easthampton city governance, engage with department leaders, and dialogue with other residents about departmental responsibilities and finances. Additionally, it is a great opportunity for participants to learn about boards, commissions, and committees they can serve on to put their commitment to the city into action.”

The City has limited spaces for 15 to 20 individuals, so make sure to secure your spot. Fill out the application form here https://easthamptonma.gov/767/Municipal-Leadership-Academy.

The sessions will be hosted at various City buildings throughout the program. After being selected, you will receive the schedule with locations for each session. Please note that some sessions may be rescheduled at the request of the departments due to emergencies, but advanced notice will be provided to the participants.

We aim to make all locations accessible. However, please be aware that not all building tours are entirely open to the public, as they may include areas that are not accessible.
