Easthampton Partners with Craig’s Doors for Emergency Support to Residents

Easthampton, MA - Easthampton’s Community Social Worker, Liz Plouffe, and Public Health Nurse, Bridget Diggins, are partnering with the Amherst nonprofit organization, Craig’s Doors, to offer emergency shelter and support to residents in need during the upcoming winter season.

Over the past several weeks, Plouffe and Diggins have collaborated with Craig’s Doors Executive Director Tim McCarthy and Western Massachusetts Network to End Homelessness Director, Pamela Schwartz, to establish and implement emergency cold weather assistance plans for Easthampton residents.

Plouffe and Diggins were granted emergency funding from the Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) to allocate towards shelter placement, as well as case management services for homeless and/or unstably housed individuals. They plan to continue collaboration with Craig’s Doors through 2023 to reduce homelessness in Western Massachusetts.

Easthampton residents seeking support can reach out to Plouffe and Diggins for further assistance.
