EASTHAMPTON AWARDED $400,000 FOR POOL AND RECREATION SPACE
Easthampton, MA - Easthampton was awarded $400,000 for Nonotuck Park pool area upgrades. The grant announced by The Baker-Polito Administration today is one of several amounting to over $12 million of Park and Open Space Projects (PARC) grants across the state.
The project will include the installation of a previous pool deck surface, shade structures and umbrellas, fencing, ADA parking, an inclusive playground, an accessible path from the playground to the bathrooms, bike racks, planting new trees, and a demonstration rain garden with interpretive panels.
“We are so pleased to be awarded the PARC grant for the Nonotuck Pool upgrades; this
funding will be combined with CPA and City funds to potentially leverage other grant funds. The
Nonotuck Pool is the centerpiece of the jewel that is Nonotuck Park. The Nonotuck Pool
project would not be possible without the overwhelming support of our Mayor, City Council,
Parks and Recreation Commission, CPA Committee, State and Local Legislators, and most of all, the residents of Easthampton for continuing to support our Department. We are looking
forward to this process that will bring a pool that meets the needs and serves so many
residents, parks guests, and the kids that attend Camp Nonotuck”, said John Mason, Parks and
Recreation Director.
The City sincerely thanks the Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy and Environment Affairs for making this project possible.
