Mayor Nicole LaChapelle and Easthampton Board of Health Rescind Certain Joint Mayoral and COVID-19 Orders Effective July 1, 2021
Easthampton, MA – Today, Mayor Nicole LaChapelle and the Easthampton Board of Health (BOH) announced they are rescinding Executive Orders, Joint Orders of the Mayor and BOH, and Orders of the BOH (“local orders”) effective at 12:01 a.m. July 1, 2021.
The jointly issued “omnibus” order makes the City’s local COVID-19 orders consistent with orders issued by Governor Baker and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Public Health and the safety standards, recommended best practices, and checklists as may be issued by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Executive Office of Housing and Economic Development and Guidance issued by the Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission.
The jointly issued order terminates Easthampton’s March 13, 2020 State of Emergency on July 1, 2021, at 12:01 a.m. to coincide with the termination of the Commonwealth’s State of Emergency on June 15, 2021.
The rescinded local orders are:
• Order of the Mayor to close city buildings to the public dated March 13, 2020.
• All orders of the BOH were rescinded dated April 30, 2021.
