Sandler

Matt Sandler has been a member of the Easthampton Fire Department since 2007. He obtained his Paramedic Certification from Greenfield Community College in 2007, and has worked in EMS since 2005. He serves as a member of the District 4 Hazmat Team as a Certified Hazardous Materials Technician, is an instructor for the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy and an Adjunct Faculty member for the Greenfield Community College Paramedic Program. Captain Sandler holds instructor certifications in CPR, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS). Mr. Sandler is also a Certified Fire Officer I, Fire Instructor I, and has completed training for Fire Officer II and Safety Officer Certifications. He also serves as an Adjunct Instructor for Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT) through Texas State University and holds instructor certifications in Active Attack Integrated Response (AAIR), ALERRT Level II/First Responder Medical (FRM), and Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE). Through these trainings Mr. Sandler has had the opportunity to help multiple agencies locally and across the United States. These trainings help prepare for integrated response and active threat situations, while providing high quality tactical medical care in high acuity environments. He works closely with the Easthampton Police Department, assisting with their medical training, and has helped organize multiple interdepartmental trainings. Mr. Sandler completed his Associate’s Degree in Fire Science from Columbia Southern University in 2011, and is currently working towards completing his Bachelor's Degree in Fire Administration.
