Cannabis in Easthampton has evolved. It began with the creation of medical marijuana zoning in 2014, with revisions in 2017. The City adopted adult-use regulations in March of 2018. The adult-use regulations limit the number of adult-use retail Special Permits to six.

Cannabis Establishments

As of July 2021, Easthampton has three adult-use retail establishments operating with the fourth and fifth retail expected soon. Pursuant to the 2018 Adult-Use Cannabis zoning ordinance adopted in March 2018 there is a limit of six retail establishments in Easthampton:  

INSA Site PhotoINSA, 122 Pleasant Street, Adult-Use Retail and Cultivation

INSA located at 122 Pleasant Street (in the Keystone Mill) was first permitted and established as a medical marijuana dispensary and cultivation facility.  After the adult-use regulations were created, INSA was the first to be permitted for adult use retail and cultivation. At that time, their cultivation facility was expanded to three stories and nearly 100,000 square feet.

Holistic IndustriesHolistic (d/b/a Liberty), 155 Northampton Street, Adult-Use Retail

Holistic (d/b/a Liberty) located at 155 Northampton Street was permitted as a medical marijuana dispensary in early 2018 and was built pursuant to those plans.  In early 2020, they were granted a Special Permit to convert to adult-use retail.  They opened for adult-use sales in October 2020.

The Verb is HerbThe Verb is Herb, 74 Cottage Street, Adult-Use Retail

The Verb is Herb located at 74 Cottage Street was granted a Special Permit for adult use retail in early 2020. They are currently open and operating.

Herbology Site PhotoHerbology (d/b/a Pleasant Trees), 195 Northampton Street, Adult-Use Retail

Herbology (d/b/a Pleasantrees) located at 195 Northampton Street was granted a Special Permit for adult use retail in early 2019.  They are currently expected to open in August 2021. The remainder of the building was built out to support other uses yet to be determined.

Apical (d/b/a Fyre Ants) located at 102 Northampton Street was granted a Special Permit for adult use retail in 2020.

The City has also executed two Host Community Agreements with another company for cultivation and delivery.  There are no limits on the number of cultivation or delivery establishments in Easthampton:

19 Wemelco WayHigh Five, 19 Wemelco Way, Cultivation

High Five Inc located at 19 Wemelco Way was granted a Special Permit in February 2021 for approximately 16,000 square feet of cultivation in the existing building.

High Five Inc (d/b/a Budzee) located at 17 East Street was granted a Special Permit for Delivery Warehouse operations in July 2021.
