Reminder 4th quarter Real Estate and Personal Property bills are due May 1, 2023.
Excise tax bills are due March 27, 2023.
If taxes are paid after due date please call for an updated amount.
The Tax Collector provides current and accurate financial information to the public, financial institutions, the legal community and other city departments.
The mission of the Collector’s office is to do all billing and collections of real estate, personal property, motor vehicle, excise taxes, and water and sewer, fire main connections, water and sewer tie in fees and MLC’s.
The tax office mails approximately 53,276 bills a year and we process approximately 495 Municipal liens requested by attorneys.
There is a staff of 2 in Collectors office: The Tax Collector and Assistant Tax Collector

Real Estate & Personal Property
Real Estate and Personal Property Tax bills are mailed twice a year. Each mailing includes two quarterly billing cycles, with due dates of August 1st, November 1st, February 1st and May 1st. New owners or new mailing addresses should be changed in the Assessor's Office to avoid any problems of not receiving bills in a timely manner. Motor Vehicle Excise Tax
Motor Vehicle Excise Tax bills are mailed out at various times during the year. They are due and payable within 30 days of mailing. New owners or new mailing addresses should be changed at the Registry of Motor Vehicles to insure timely receipt of excise bills. Pay motor vehicle excise tax online here.
Water & Sewer Bills
Water and sewer bills are mailed out quarterly and are due and payable within 30 days of mailing. For questions regarding water and sewer, such as final water readings, name and/or address changes and water usage, please contact the Collector's Office at 413-529-1400, ext. 414.
Please note that all water and sewer bills need to be paid by August 31st of every year to avoid a lien on September 1st. Read options for paying water or sewer bills, in person or online.
Fiscal Year
The City of Easthampton operates on a fiscal year beginning July 1st and ending June 30th.
