Animal Control

German ShepherdThe City of Easthampton and the City of Westfield have partnered to form a regional Animal Control Unit.

To request animal control services, or when an urgent need for an Animal Control Officer arises, please contact the Easthampton Public Safety Communications Center for assistance. The non-emergency telephone number is 413-527-1212. For emergencies please dial 911.

The following are situations where an Animal Control Officer might be requested:

  • Aggressive or vicious domestic animals
  • Bites or injuries caused by domestic animals
  • Stray domestic animals
  • Injured domestic animals
  • Animal complaints not involving a barking dog

Animal Complaint

In the event of a barking dog complaint, please contact the Easthampton Public Safety Communications Center at 413-527-1212. You will be asked for your name, address and contact information. An Easthampton police officer will respond to the location and take appropriate action based on the circumstances.

You may also submit a written Complaint of Vicious or Barking Dog form (PDF). Please bring the completed form to the Easthampton Public Safety Complex located at 32 Payson Avenue.

Deceased Animals in Roadway

To report a deceased animal in the roadway, contact the Easthampton Public Safety Communications Center at 413-527-1212.
